Sunset - Day 99
Once Again, With Feeling - Day 98
Lake Daylesford - Day 97
See the Bombers Fly Up! - Day 96
ArgiBio - Day 95
Preston Bingo - Day 94
I wandered past the entrance to the Preston Bingo Bonanza earlier in the day (with a huge load of fresh fruit and vege in my arms) and thought that it'd make not too bad a photo. Later in the day, still no particularly good photos, I slung the tripod over my shoulder and headed back on my way to do some supermarket shopping.
This shot didn't quite come out as planned (I was hoping to get strong parallel lines in the escalators - which I didn't get even aiming directly at one of the escalators) but not too bad regardless.

Still Learning - Day 93
And from this exercise I learnt that I should probably clean the front windscreen before attempting a photo like this!
This is a 8 second photo and I was worried that bumps in the road would ruin the sharpness in the dashboard but it turned out to be not a problem.
I might revisit this idea later in the 365 if/when I have a wider lens (or a bigger car!).

Preston Alleycat - Day 92
I snapped this while enjoying a run through Preston's back alleyways. Another square-format black and white!

Bug Eyed - Day 91
A Praying Mantis eyes me (and my camera) carefully while hiding in an Australian Grass Tree in the Lerderderg State Park.

Bunny in a Box - Day 90
Happy Easter everyone. Marshie playing around in the current (they get frequently retired) bunny box - also one of my favourite types of boxes!

Bugs and Weeds - Day 89
Taking this photo I didn't notice the little bug hiding away in the shadows under the dandelion. I wish I had got a better shot of him!

Into the Night - Day 88
Although I had another shot for this day I really like the minimalism in this and the hint of movement in the road.

208 Canterbury Rd - Day 87
A day-time long exposure, I used an ND400 filter to stretch the exposure lengths to ~10 seconds. Although I really like the effect on the building traffic and road, there's too much movement in the trees and too much dynamic range in the clouds!

Tyler St, Preston - Day 86
A repurposed shopfront on Tyler St, Preston. I'm not sure if this is now a residence... it just looked boarded up to me.

Homemade Curried Seafood Pies - Day 83
These turned out really pretty good and were super simple to make, I just made far too many!

Round the Bend - Day 82
Running the Merri Creek Trail as it bends around the Harding St CERES community farm.

Emotive Subject - Day 81
When the weather is wet and cold, Huntsmen Spiders move somewhere warm and dry - inside. When we first moved into Hurstbridge (I was ~5) I had a couple of experiences waking up during the night and seeing dark shadows on the roof directly above my bed... experiences emotional enough for me to continuing seeing shadows on the roof whether they were really there or not for many years. But despite this bad introduction, living close to these beautiful and misunderstood creatures, I learned to love them.
Shot with the built-in flash (and despite this coming out surprisingly well), I'm entralled by the detail of this Huntsmen.

A snap of the Anglican (I think) church in King St, Ivanhoe.

Mini Cowrie - Day 79
The first really manufactured, studio-esk shot in the 365, I'm pretty happy with how this came out.

Fiery End - Day 78
The last gasp of day escapes into fiery clouds.

Keeping my head above water - Day 77
The sun seeps into my hovel, illuminating the timber soldiers, all in a row.
Down in Port Melbourne, I ducked around the edge of a billboard (swinging out over the water!) to access the gritty truth hidden behind the modern design. I took my Hoya ND400 filter intending to catch the ghostly water I'd seen in other photos, but the brightness of the sun was unstoppable, so I dropped down to the water-level and crawled under the platform, into the shade!

Indulging The Details - Day 76
Autumn is here.
I find myself spending far too long just letting my eyes wander over the photo, picking out small details of interest.

Highs and Lows - Day 75
A macro of rock strata down by the Darebin creek.

Falling Stars - Day 74
A beautiful Hoya (Hoya carnosa / wax-plant) with flowers starting to fade. I tried growing one at our place, but unfortunately the only aspect we do have didn't suit it at all!

Standing Tall - Day 73
A chimney soaks up the last of the days rays on the outskirts of La Trobe University.

Texturize your life - Day 71
Reclaimation underway or futile efforts?

Summer Distortion - Day 70
Palms slump in the heat as I earn a little colour on my shoulders.
An afternoon spent relaxing in a pool, escaping the heat, often below the surface. Note the pool tiles visible in the bottom part of the photo! Bright sun and water? The Pentax Optio excels in conditions like this!

Fluffy Terror - Day 69
A huge cloud formation drifts low over Bell City, Preston.

Dawn on the Maribyrnong - Day 68
As the sun rises over the Maribyrnong River, a fisherman throws back his undersized catch (Bream) and a rower speeds past.
I'm not normally an early riser, so I count myself lucky (in hindsight!) on days when I'm forced out of bed in the dark. On Saturday I got the chance to sit on banks of the Maribyrnong and snap away as the Sun came to life.

Symmetry - Day 67
Almost Escher-esque and wonderfully symmetrical!

Traffic Flow, High St - Day 61
I orginally wanted to capture a long exposure of the two churches side by side opposite this spot on High St, but none of the photos were looking particularly good, so I turned the came down High St.

As you can just see at in the left edge of the photo, the Merri Creek trail had flooded, providing an great shot of the Coburg Lake overflow in full operation. Of the entire length of the trail, this is just about the most commonly flooded section, and is also a blind corner at the bottom of a hill... not the best planning!

Although I have tried the beef burger at Melissa'a before, and was very tempted by the Steak Sandwhich, how could I go past a lean grain-fed beef burger, trim backon, free range egg, beetroot, herb mayo and baby spinach served with wedges for $13.90? Perfectly matched with a Frappe and High St view!

By a distance only measurable in light years, The Raccoon Club, is the best watering hole in the Preston region. In fact, I struggle to think of any bar, in Melbourne, that measures up to the bar set by this bar. Cheap, fantastic and often rotated local beers on tap, a relaxed, comfortable interior with free games and a free pool table (!), great music that doesn't drown conversation and a nice outdoor area. Touches like a forward facing facet on the beer taps that delivers carbonated water, cutlery and crockery provided whenever you bring in outside food are totally superfluous to making this bar The Place To Be.

Out on a exploratory ride I spotted this beautiful old building and stopped for a while to shoot some photos. Just down the road I found a string of really nice old buildings! I'll have to either ride this way again, or make a special trip with the DSLR and tripod!
